What to Expect
You will first meet Mr Kasbekar for a talk in the consulting room of the outpatient department. The room has a desk, comfortable chairs and an examination couch. Your Consultant will discuss your medical history and symptoms with you. He will then perform a thorough examination with state of the art equipment and may suggest further tests to confirm his diagnosis. Mr Kasbekar will put this all together and then talk to you about the best form of treatment for you and, if required, the variety of procedures available, any risks involved, and the type of anaesthetic to be used. You may get some written information about your condition to take away and read.
If scans are requested, these can be arranged often within 48 hours. If you are being seen via the NHS route, investigations can take several weeks to months.
A letter about your consultation is usually sent to your GP (with your permission) and also to you. If there are any questions that you have after the consultation, Mr Kasbekar is always happy to answer them.
Follow up appointments are arranged if required. Mr Kasbekar aims to finish treatment as quickly as possible in the interests of the patient without several appointments.
Online / Telephone and Video Consultations Available!
Mr Kasbekar also offers remote consultations either by telephone or video call (Skype, Zoom or MS Teams). This will better protect us all during the unprecedented threat of Covid 19 / Corona Virus. We will send you details of how we can arrange a remote consultation including full costings. Mr Kasbekar will discuss your problems and possible solutions. In many cases he will be able to diagnose the problem and form a thorough management plan which will avoid a face to face appointment.
Some consultations however may need to be face to face in order to allow a full examination and you will be advised of this.
Further details can be obtained by emailing info@medsecltd.co.uk or by calling the numbers below to speak to the private secretaries: Please provide us with your symptoms, age and any other medical problems that you suffer with so that Mr Kasbekar can make an informed decision as to whether he can safely undertake a remote consultation on the phone or video. Your information is treated in the strictest confidence in line with GDPR guidelines.
My Fees
This sets out some important information that I am required by law to provide to you. These do not apply if you are being seen on the NHS. This is for your information only and is not a bill. As this includes information about my charges, if you do not have private medical insurance but someone else will be paying your bill, you may wish to pass a copy of this information to them. Please note that even if someone else is paying your bill or you have private medical insurance, you are responsible for paying any charges which they do not pay.
Consultation fee for private patients
If you are a self-paying patient, my fee for an initial consultation will not normally exceed £200 and my fee for any follow-up consultation will not normally exceed £125. Any procedures carried out during the follow up consultation usually attracts a £25 fee. The hospital may charge you an additional fee for any procedure that I perform during the consultation (for example nasal camera test). I do not receive any fee from this. The hospital will advise you of this prior to your appointment. If a hearing test is required, this will be charged separately by another provider. Hearing tests can be undertaken at the same visit which will save you returning to see me for interpretation of the results.
Following your consultation you may need certain tests (such as blood tests or imaging, for example an MRI or CT scan) to help me diagnose your condition. If the test is undertaken by the clinic or hospital, and not by me, the fees for those tests will be determined by the clinic or hospital and charged to you, or your private medical insurer, separately.
If there are any fees which I will charge in relation to any of the tests I advise that you have, I will let you know what those will be.
Private Medical Insurance
If you have private medical insurance, please contact your insurer before your consultation, to check the terms of your policy, particularly the level and type of outpatient cover you have, including any reimbursement limits on individual consultation fees.
I am recognised by all major private medical insurers.

NHS patients
Patients who wish to see me via the NHS route should obtain a referral from their GP to either Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust (The Queen’s Medical Centre), or Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (Kings Mill Hospital or Newark Hospital).
Financial Interests
I am legally obliged to tell you if I have any financial interests in the Spire Nottingham Hospital, the Circle Park Hospital, or any equipment there. I can confirm I do not have any such financial interests.
