Mr Kasbekar is a Consultant ENT (Paediatric and Adult) Surgeon at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust and an Honorary Assistant Professor at the University of Nottingham. He is the Director for ENT Surgery Specialist Training in East Midlands covering Nottingham, Derby & Leicester.

Mr Kasbekar completed his undergraduate medical training at the University of Nottingham (2003), where he was elected the Medical Society President, before being trained as an adult and paediatric ear, nose and throat surgeon in London, Cambridge, Glasgow and Liverpool. This included a year at the renowned Alder Hey Children’s Hospital undertaking complex ENT surgery.

Mr Kasbekar has undertaken visiting fellowships at Stanford University, California and the House Clinic, Los Angeles, USA. He was also awarded the prestigious TWJ short Fellowship to Radboud University Nijmegen Medical Centre, Netherlands. He has undertaken a post-training specialist fellowship in all types of hearing implants, chronic ear conditions, balance disorders and neurotology at the world famous Otolaryngology department at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge. Part of his training included working under world renowned Rhinologists and sinus surgeons as well as Head and Neck cancer Surgeons.

Mr Kasbekar’s interest in research led him to complete a doctorate in medicine at Cambridge University Hospitals in collaboration with the Medical Research Council Cognition and Brain Sciences Unit. He was awarded the prestigious Royal Society of Medicine award for research in 2008.

Mr Kasbekar runs training courses for ENT doctors and also teaches on various national ENT courses. He leads the East Midlands regional training committee which is responsible for training ENT residents/registrars to become ENT Consultants. As part of his charitable work he has spent time in remote surgical camps in rural Nepal which he finds very rewarding. Mr Kasbekar has founded the charity Nottingham Ears to relieve sickness and promote and protect the good health of persons suffering from ear, nose and throat disorders within the UK and in developing countries.

Outside of work, Mr Kasbekar is married to a wonderful wife and son. He enjoys playing a variety of sports in his spare time.
